Not actually an auction - each pen has a ticket and a price on it and you look around then when the gates open you runn for the pen you want a grab the ticket and that's it, you pay and take home. I think if things don't sell they may do a proper auction afterwards. I got my original chooks there this time last year and paid £40 for Boris and his 3 ladies (Lavender Pekins) They had some nice birds there last year, reasonable prices, nothing under 12 weeks old. They don't seem to advertise it at all.
